About Tre Cruz
In the early 90's Tre Cruz was born in Milford, MI. He was brought up with the classic sound of Motown in his heart and soul. When he was in the fourth grade, his music teacher Maryann Lambrecht helped him discover his voice when it was beginning to change. But it wasn't until he met his mentor Pervis Jackson of the legendary vocal group The Spinners that he knew he wanted to be a singer when he grew up.
Bit by the musical bug he continued to develop his craft by enrolling in the Specs Howard School of Media Arts graduating with a degree in Radio Broadcasting in 2012. After graduation, Tre became a production intern and voice over talent for Detroit's top radio show, Blaine & Allyson in the morning, on 96.3 WDVD. That led to a job working as a road crew member for Radio Disney. Soon after, he connected with his friends, who were singing with a live looping a-cappella group called EVOC. Tre joined the quartet and performed exclusively for AM Resorts in Punta Cana, as well as being special guests on NBC's The Sing Off Tour and Disney's Magic Cruise Line.
Being well received for his four and a half octave vocal range and becoming a dominating force as a basso profundo, Tre realized he wanted to become a bass singer following in the footsteps of his mentor Pervis Jackson. Tre also found inspiration from Pervis's wife Claudreen and new bass singer of The Spinners, Jessie Peck.
In the summer of 2016, Tre met the legendary Paris Delane from the popular rocket soul band Sonia Dada. Cruz and Delane connected so well that they decided to join forces and make music in honor of the Pervis Jackson Jr. Autism Foundation.
Shortly after the release of Cruz’s solo debut album “Love is True”, his Godfather Paris Delane passed away unexpectedly and left a void in the musical aspect of Tre’s life.
As one door closed, another opened and Tre re-connected with his cousin, Gabe Sinclair. Together they embark on a new journey in the form of their new group, “Varry White”. Bringing together styles new and old, the two have made something truly unique that still stays true to both of their roots.
